On Friday 3rd July the NCELP Hub will be holding the follow up to the hugely successful MFL HUB Day CPD Event that many of you attended last year. The event will once again be free and will be held in a webinar format. Please see the event flyer attached
The day is hosted by the fantastic Rachel Hawkes and Emma Marsden and includes sessions from several MFL specialist teachers and researchers from NCELP on the following topics:

1. SOW / curriculum development and Ofsted (keynote session: Emma Marsden and Rachel Hawkes)

2. Computer Assisted Language Learning and vocabulary

3. KS2 grammar - and grammar transition

4. Further use of phonics

5. Effective grammar teaching

If you wish to attend please complete this expression of interest form by Friday 19th June.


If you didn't attend last year's event but would like to join this year, please complete the expression of interest form and review these materials and screencasts on phonics, vocabulary and grammar teaching to bring you up to speed with last year's event.

1 Details

  • What will delegates do on the day?

    Delegates will participate in an in-depth look at and discussion of the current pedagogy and research into effective MFL teaching, as well as hearing from keynote speakers in the Language HUB scheme.

  • Who is the training aimed at?

    This event is open to all secondary MFL teachers and leaders from Brighton & Hove, East and West Sussex.

  • How do I book?

    Expressions of interest must be made by completing the expression of interest form in the main info section by 19th June. Following completion of this form you will be contacted with joining details.

  • Do I need to have attended last year's event?

    While this second event builds upon last year's work, new delegates are welcome. To assist you we recommend you visit the NCELP website to access the relevant materials from last year. (see link in main description)
