The network offers an opportunity for English subject leaders to share best practice. Jointly led by three SLEs, there will be two meetings this academic year offering sessions on leadership, KS3-4 progression of skills, the 'big questions' in Literature and a Teachmeet.
Most importantly, the network will offer participants time to think and strategically plan and how best to encourage learning in English Language and Literature in our schools.
The second meeting is likely to take place in June after the exams.

What will delegates do on the day?
There will be a mixture of input from Blatchington Mill, Dorothy Stringer and Cardinal Newman Catholic School. The session will feature a Teachmeet where delegates are asked to contribute a pedagogical idea (5-10 minutes), peer coaching and time to plan.
Who is the training aimed at?
English subject leaders - KS3/4 leaders are also welcome
What school improvement aims will this support?
Improvement of English teaching and learning KS3 and KS4.
How will the course impact be evaluated?
Schemes of work, learning walks, student voice, results.
